US: Airbnb Airbnb has gone beyond just accommodation. It launched Airbnb Services, and its Experiences platform was relaunched in 600 cities around the world.
Airbnb Services allows guests book services such as massage therapists or makeup artists at any location. They can also book personal trainers to train them, or spa treatments.
The product, which is now available in 260 cities worldwide, is designed to make travel more convenient and personalized. The platform plans to expand the number of cities and service categories in the near future.
In parallel, the platform has relaunched its Experiences platform in 650 cities, introducing five new categories: History & Culture, Food & Drink, Nature & Outdoors, Art & Design, and Fitness & Wellness. The Experiences platform aims to connect travellers to the local culture by offering curated experiences hosted by local guides and members of the community.
As part the overhaul, Airbnb has also introduced Airbnb Originals – a premium tier featuring exclusive experiences hosted by well-known personalities and celebrities. The launch partners include Sabrina Carpenter, NFL star Patrick Mahomes and more.
Airbnb has integrated Services and Experiences into its Explore tab in the app to help users discover new experiences. Users receive recommendations based upon their travel dates and destination, which help them plan trips.
