    Rosewood opens Amsterdam hotel in historic building

    The Netherlands Luxury hotel group Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has opened its latest property in Amsterdam, marking the brand’s debut in the Netherlands. 

    After a decade of restoration work, the former Palace of Justice is now the Rosewood Amsterdam. Designed by Studio Piet Boon, it features 134 guest rooms including five ‘houses’ offering a residential-style stay.

    Dining venues include the restaurant Eeuwen, designed by  Sagrada and led by chef David Ordóñez, as well as a cocktail bar Advocatuur and a lobby lounge. 

    Asaya Spa features five treatment rooms and a sauna, a steam room, and a pool. It also has a fitness center and a Pilates studio.

    Bibi van den Velden was appointed the hotel’s jeweller. Guests inHouse 020 are able to wear the designs they choose throughout their stay. Other immersive experiences include guided garden walks through Piet Oudolf’s De Tuin, culinary workshops, and  mixology sessions at Advocatuur. Studio Piet Boon has also designed a private salon boat for canal trips.

    Thomas Harlander is the managing director at Rosewood Amsterdam. He said, “Rosewood Amsterdam offers more than just a restored landmark. It is an invitation to immerse oneself in this extraordinary city, and experience a whole new chapter of hospitality.”

    Highlights:

    • Rosewood Amsterdam marks the brand’s debut in the Netherlands, housed in the historic Palace of Justice.

    • The property offers 134 luxury rooms including five residential ‘houses’.

    • Guest experiences include a salon boat, curated culinary events, and garden tours.

    • The hotel features wellness facilities with an Asaya Spa, a Pilates studio, and 24-hour fitness centre.

    • Guests in House 020 will receive exclusive access to Bibi van der Velden’s jewellery designs.
