    • Ko Olina Resort Oahu, Hawaii

According to the latest Allianz Partners USA Top Summer Travel Destinations Report, Seattle and Cancun were Americans’ top travel destinations in this summer. Most Americans choose to travel within the United States, with 71% making domestic bookings, and 29% taking international trips.

    Preferences Domestic and International

American travelers are overwhelmingly in favor of domestic travel. Hawaii’s beaches are among the top destinations for U.S. tourists. Honolulu is ranked number four, while Kahului ranks fifth. Orlando, New York and Boston are other popular destinations within the United States. Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Anchorage round out the top five.

    International Travel Hotspots

In terms of international travel, Mexico continues to be a hot spot, boasting three of the top ten destinations, including Cancun, San José del Cabo, and Puerto Vallarta. London, Punta cana, Montego Bay and Calgary are also popular international destinations. Dublin, Ireland, Dublin, Ireland, and Dublin in Ireland, is another.

    Methodology

The report’s data was collected by analysing the number of customers who went through the online booking of airfare and packages for partners that offer Allianz Global Assistance Travel insurance. Analysis included roundtrip flights leaving from U.S. Airports between May 22, 2024 and September 2, 2024 for trips of five to eight days. This methodology was used to analyze just over seven million itinerary.
