Methodology
The study looked at large and small beach towns in cities to see which ones would be the least expensive. In order to produce the ranking matrix, a number of factors were analyzed, including the cost per adult in each destination. The report analyzed various factors, including weekend dining, everyday expenses and airfare. It also looked at vacation rental rates, hotel rates, walkability and price volatility. This last one is very important, as it accounts for seasonal price changes in many popular destinations throughout the entire year.
The Texas city may not be the first place that comes to mind when people think of a beach vacation. It’s named after the far more famous Pasadena, California and just down from the much popular Galveston.
