I camp a few days a week. While a long trip is fun sometimes, I’ve learned to appreciate nature. quickie campout. I’m referring to a spontaneous decision on a Friday evening, a short trip to a local (ish) location, and just the right amount of gear to allow you to sleep comfortably under the stars. It’s low-stress, low-commitment, and honestly, exactly what I need most weekends—a reset button that doesn’t require PTO.

It turns out that I am not the only one. According to Kampground of America’s 2025 Camping Trends report, more travelers are leaning into “snapcamping”—a.k.a. Camping getaways are more convenient and flexible, requiring less travel. People are taking more trips where convenience is the priority. Take it from me: If you want to try snapcamping this summer, you don’t need much—just a solid base kit of essentials to make the experience cozy, functional, and fun. Below, I have rounded up my go-to camping gear Picks to help me enjoy the outdoors faster without having to overpack or overthink.
