Old Fourth Ward may be Atlanta’s most cool neighborhood. The historic Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, which includes his birthhome, is located in Old Fourth Ward. It also has the BeltLine and beautiful green spaces. The location is the busiest in town. But it’s busy for a reason: there are so many things to do here (eat, shop and people watch). If you want a hotel with a homey feel in the heart of the city, you can’t beat Scout Living, which offers spacious apartment-style rooms in the trendy Ponce City Market—a former Sears, Roebuck and Co. distribution center turned hub of great dining and shopping. Apartments with views of the city are available in sizes ranging from one to two bedroom apartments. There is a market outside, and in the lobby you’ll find Necessary Purveyor from Miami, a cafe that serves coffee all day, a bar with a full menu, and a grab-and-go store in case something urgent comes up.
