For travelers looking for the best beaches in Europe, many choose the Mediterranean. But, if I were to pick a favorite, it would be a trip to Italy’s Lake District. Lake Como is a favorite of my family because of its beautiful scenery, adorable villages, and the best luxury hotels of Italy.

I’ve been returning to Como almost every year for the past decade. Some of my friends from that first visit are still close friends. Cristina Zucchi is the managing director of the two hotels located on the lake. Lake Flori The following are some examples of how to get started: Vista Lago di ComoWhen I’m in Como, I always make sure to stop by for an aperitivo. Over the years, Zucchi—who, to me, is the most stylish person in Como (think stiletto heels, a rockstar haircut, and that Italian flair we all wish we had)—has helped me perfect my travel style So, I blend into the locals to avoid being recognized as a tourist.

“The temperatures around Como vary, so always be comfortable and chic,” she says.Lightweight, breathable fabrics It can be very warm on the water, so a scarf or jacket is advisable.  When she tells what to wear, I know I’m always in good hands. You can find out more about this by clicking here. lake. Here are her Italian fashion tips for the best clothing to wear on Lake Como.

    Tailored Shorts

Zucchi’s tailor is her, but even if you don’t have one, suit-styled shorts are elegant and polished, not baggy. These shorts are slightly more long than the norm, making them more stylish and ideal for day or night. These bottoms are secured with a zip and hook and bar fly.

    Linen Dress

    Quince

The majority of Europeans say that linen is their preferred material for summer travel. So, this 100% European linen dress in Como is a necessity. The dress is designed to be lightweight, breathable and hypoallergenic for comfort. It also has functional front pockets.

    Mini Skirt

    Nordstrom

Northern Italy can reach temperatures of up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit in the peak of summer. Zucchi suggests always traveling with skirts—both midi and short lengths—to combat the heat and stay cool. San Carlos Embroidered Linen Mix Mini Skirt is a high-rise mini skirt made of mostly linen. It has a lightweight, soft feel. This skirt is machine-washable, making upkeep a breeze.

    Style Blouse

    Madewell

I dress up a bit when I visit the area, even though Como is known for its casual attire. This bubble-sleeved top adds style to a white shirt and is great for travel. You can style this shirt however you like by tucking it in or out of your pants, mini skirt, etc.

    Wide-leg Low-rise Jeans

    Nordstrom Rack

Zucchi advises wearing loose, wide-leg jeans instead of super tight, uncomfortable denim. Zucchi says, “Pair it with a simple t-shirt and you’ll have my favorite look.” These baggy low-rise jeans are made from a soft cotton blend and have a cool, light wash to give them a worn look.

    Flats

    Quince

Como, an upscale Italian town, is often visited by tourists wearing sneakers. Wearing nice shoes for lunch or dinner is a great idea, even though most people wear sneakers. Quince flats made from American cow leather are soft and guaranteed, but their real beauty lies in the breathable design that keeps your feet dry. The rubber outsole is flexible and non-slip for stability. An insole provides additional cushioning.

    Silk Shirt

    Everlane

Silk shirts can keep you cool when the temperatures are hot and humid around the lake. This Everlane shirt has a polished look with stripes to add flair. This button-up shirt is versatile for packing. You can wear it on its own, or layer with other shirts to keep warm in a cool night.

    A Wide-brim hat

    Amazon

Zucchi loves the Italian brand Borsalino and never leaves home without it. It’s Sophie Braided Straw Hat This lightweight hat is perfect for blending in with the other Italians who are well-dressed around the lake. It’s also decorated with a grosgrain ribbon. There are also some cheaper options available, like this Furtalk straw hat Amazon.com Brixton straw hat Nordstrom.com

    An Evening Gown

    Quince

Quince is a comfortable dress to wear for an aperitivo at the lake, or to dinner. The dress is comfortable and slightly stretchy due to the tencel material. one reviewer Saying they love “how great it looks under an outer jacket or blazer.”

    Sunglasses

    Quince

You’re missing out if you don’t go hiking, trail-running, or cycling at Lake Como. You can hire bikes at your hotel and explore the mountains that surround Lake Como. There are many well-marked hiking trails. Sunglasses are essential for protecting your eyes against the Como sun, and keeping mosquitoes at bay. These polarized shades will help you see clearly and match your entire wardrobe.

    Boat Bag or Picnic Bag

    Amazon

Picnics around the lake or simply having an aperitivo on a boat means you have to lug all your food essentials (prosecco, rosé, and the list goes on) with you. The Cotopaxi Allpa Gear Hauler fits large bottles, including beer and wine. It also holds food. The outer material, which is nylon, can be easily cleaned if it becomes dirty.

    Scarf

    Quince

Zucchi suggests always packing a scarf when traveling on Lake Como, as it can be choppy or windy. When I was on my last trip to Lake Como, I enjoyed speeding around in a boat with my parents giggling, and a scarf kept the water away from my eyes. This cashmere-silk blend is soft, plush and comfortable, perfect for the warmer nights of Como.
