Grand Hotel Victoria was built in 1890. It reopened recently with a modern new look after extensive renovations completed in the summer of 2024. The hotel’s original Liberty-style features such as the marble staircase and taupe and creamy fittings are complemented by modern taupes, creams, and taupes. The rooms are filled with light and feature a soothing palette of nut browns, soft blues and other colors that echo the colors on the lake. The location on the front means you’re a 10-minute stroll from Menaggio’s ferry terminal, making it all too easy to nip out and take in the sights before retreating to the hotel for a little R&R.
A heated indoor pool, saunas with glass fronts, and steam rooms are the property’s highlights. salt roomsRelaxation rooms, a Kneipp Path, and hot tubs are available. If sunning yourself by the pool is more your thing, there’s an open-air swimming pool in the leafy courtyard garden surrounded by comfy lounge beds; or make for Victoria Beach, the hotel’s sleek beach club with two swimming pools, a kids pool, and lots of opportunity for lounging—all while soaking up glorious lake vistas to the upbeat sounds of live music. —K.D.
